Trump, Trudeau Talk, and Readouts Are Very Different

Meanwhile, one site thinks US will go after Canadian wine next

A post at the Canadian site Maclean’s thinks Trump is going to go after wine sales in British Columbia next, arguing that the Canadian product has an unfair advantage over US wine because of grocery store rules.

U.S. says “discriminates against the sale of U.S. wine.” B.C. does allow U.S. wine to be sold under the “store within a store” option, but no grocery chain will go to the trouble or expense to do it. The situation also applies in other provinces like Ontario. Don’t be surprised when Trump soon starts talking about Canada’s “disgraceful” wine policy. It is all about America First.

Why You Should Be Drinking Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is a red grape that was traditionally reserved as a minor blending grape in the world famous Bordeaux wine blend. However, as the grape has spread to warmer climates, winemakers have realized that Petit Verdot can make intensely bold, fruity-yet-floral, red wines that can and do easily stand on their own.

THE PYRAMID OF QUALITY. DOCG & DOC

As the other wine producing country, Italy also has laws to indicate wine quality.  Essentially, there are four classifications known as “The Pyramid of Quality”.  The highest quality wines, characterized by strict production rules and the highest value, are at the top of the pyramid.  Low quality wines characterized by the fewest restrictions and lowest value are at the base.
