New Wine
Mendocino County, California-based Fetzer Vineyards has released a Bourbon barrel-aged Chardonnay within its 1000 Stories portfolio. The new wine is sourced from a variety of California AVAs, among them Monterey County, and was aged in French and American oak prior to being finished in charred Bourbon barrels. Joining a portfolio that also includes Bourbon barrel-aged Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a red blend, the new Chardonnay is now available nationwide, retail priced at $19 a 750-ml. Fetzer is owned by Chilean winery Concha y Toro.

Derby Whisky
- Woodford Reserve has released a commemorative 2020 Kentucky Derby bottle as part of its role as presenting sponsor of the event. The special packaging features art by Richard Sullivan, a local artist and former player for the Atlanta Braves. The watercolor label illustration depicts horses racing toward the finish line of Churchill Downs. At 45.2% abv, 1-liter bottles of the Derby edition are now retailing for $50 across the U.S. and on e-commerce site Reserve Bar.

New Bacardi
Bacardi has launched Dewar’s Ilegal Smooth, a new blended Scotch whisky finished in mezcal barrels. The 8-year-old whisky is blended from up to 40 malt and grain whiskies before finishing for an undisclosed amount of time in ex-Ilegal mezcal barrels before bottling at 40% abv. This new whisky follows last year’s Dewar’s Caribbean Smooth, a rum barrel finished expression. Last year Dewar’s was up 6.5% globally to 3 million cases.
